Annotation:
Junk force 1 is Kakinuma’s first installment in a manga trilogy. It’s 2100 and Earth is left a wasteland following the Last World War between two factions, the Earth Regeneration Faction and the Mars Pioneer Faction. Before the Mars faction migrates for the red planet they leave behind the Z.P.T., a computerized system to cleanse the environment, in hope that they can return once the Earth has been rejuvenated. The system malfunctions and in its cyclonic devastation destroys anything and anyone in its path.
Our heroes are Liza, Wooty, Mill, Louis and Mamet a bunch of teenage kids who use their recycled technology to embark on a mission to save the Earth.
The books erotic descriptions are diluted by characters that are drawn in a standard 'kawaii' manga mode (i.e. with big eyes and doll like features).
The comedic elements of the story are let down by the lack of character development, the books priority is violence, vehicles and heavy artillery. It’s geared to appeal to young male readers that are after some hard core ‘Dumb Fun’.
