From July to December 2019 we will be promoting the theme Back to the Future to Save Planet Earth by offering creative workshops to help you develop your own Fan Fiction creations. You’ll be shown how to draw 3D manga/animation characters, how to place those characters on a storyboard and how to scan/film and edit a clip so it can be uploaded to any social media sites.
1. 3D character drawing workshop
A trained 3D character artists will show you the basics of reproducing your favourite
character. We will use examples from a couple of the graphic novels on this list with special focus on Spill Zone, 1 by Scott Westerfeld.
2. Story Boarding
A trained animator/film maker will show you the art of story boarding. Creating a visual story that an editor can interpret. You will be shown :
- How to translate a script into a shot list
- What shot sizes to use and how to compose a picture.
- How to string a series of story panels together to create a story sequence that can cut together to tell a story and retain script continuity.
3. Scan/Film your storyboard and edit it on iMovie or Kinemaster.
How to scan a high res image using a scanner or film it using using a mobile phone / device. You will then be shown the basic principles of how to cut a sequence together on a non-linear timeline.
